Betty Gene Oats COOPER — Miss Betty Gene Oats, 52, of Cooper died Monday, Aug. 9, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Johnston Johnston and Burgie Thompson of East Delta officiating. Burial will be in the Charleston Cemetery. Miss Oats was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Charleston, a daughter of Byron and Susie Nabors Oats. She was employed by Employers Casualty Insurance Co. in Dallas for 30 years. Surviving are a brother, Arvol Oats of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Benice Wordcn of Charleston and Mrs. Glenna Scott of Charleston; two nieces and two nephews and ten great- nieces and nephews. Bearers were Thomas Peters, Edwin Bettes, Dean Houchens, Danny Lile, John Ed Nabors and Burnice Mills.
