Betty Gene Oats COOPER — Miss Betty Gene Oats, 52, of Cooper died Monday, Aug. 9, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Johnston and Burgie Thompson of East Delta officiating. Burial will be in the Charleston Cemetery. Miss Oats was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Charleston, a daughter of Byron and Susie Nabors Oats. She was employed by Employers Casualty Insurance Co. in Dallas for 30 years. Surviving are a brother, Arvol Oats of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Benice Wordcn of Charleston and Mrs. Glenna Scott of Charleston; two nieces and two nephews and ten great- nieces and nephews. Bearers were Thomas Peters, Edwin Bettes, Dean Houchens, Danny Lile, John Ed Nabors and Burnice Mills.
