C GRAETTINGER — Funeral services for Ed Herke will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Graettinger United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clair O'Dell officiating and burial in the Valley View Cemetery. He passed away January 6 in the Palo Alto County Hospital. Mr. Herke was born August 12, 1900 to August and Elizabeth Herke in Paw Paw, 111. and at the age of two he moved with his parents to Palo Alto County where he received his education. He was married to Ina Burg January 6, 1926 and they farmed in Palo Alto County. He was also a seed corn salesman. Mr. Herke was a member of the Graettinger United Methodist Church, Graettinger Lions Club, Senior Citizens Committee, ASC, and other area committees. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Edmund, Emmetsburg; Larry, Mankato, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Dick Cunningham, Pontiac, 111.; Mrs. Richard Dunn, Graettinger; Mrs. George Tonderum, Emmetsburg; 15 grandchildren; five greatgrand­ children; three brothers, William and Frank, Graettinger; Herman, Wallingford; and five sisters, Mrs. Harry Wikery, Emmetsburg; Mrs. Clarence Egeland, Estherville; Mrs. Leon Webb, Ft. Myers, Fla.; Mrs. Ed Jackson, Emmetsburg; and Mrs. T. B. Miller, Spring Grove, Mo. He was preceded in death by one son, his parents and one sister. Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home,
