Many Interesting parlor games afforded entertainment. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Levi R. Ebersole and Anna and Sara Ebersole, of Ellzabethtown. and Mr. and Mrs. W. Burkholder and daughter. Miss Ruth, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Baish. Rev. and Mrs. Wissler, of Carlisle, visited here Mondaj. Mrs. William Pyles, of Lebanon, visited Mrs. C. E. Spangler Sunday. Janet Goodhart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M A. Goodhart, is ill. Mrs. H. W". Landis visited her son, C. Eugene Landis, of Enola, Saturday. Mrs. Susan Moyer visited friends at Marys - vine Sunday. Mrs. Stella Boas, of HaiTisburg, visited her parents, Mr. . and Mrs. O. P. Brownawell. John Konemaker and two children, Frank and Mabel, of Wormleysburg, visited here Sunday. Abbie Diller, of Har - risburg, visited friends In town Sunday. Sunday. John B. Engle died at his home near town September 15, aged 87 years. Mr. Engle had been in failing health for some time, but his con - ' ditlon only became alarming Sunday. Through his death his family loses a loving and devoted Christian father and the community a friend and citi - en of exemplary character who has :Uved among them for the past thirty - 'aix years. He had long been a faith - 'ful member of the Brethren in Christ church. Besides his wife he is sur - - vived by one son. Alpha, who lives lllear town; two daughters, Mrs. James iBalsh, at home, and Mrs. Ellsworth ;Bitner; a stepdaughter, living near 'Shiremanstown, and a brother and 6ister, Abram Engle and Mrs, Anna jMusser, of Abilene, Kan. Funeral ser - jvices were held Saturday at the Men - Jnonite church, near town.
