McCOMB, MISS., Dec. 1 —Despite increased police vigilance vigilance and the mayor's promise to supress violence, disorders erupted on the streets of McComb McComb Friday, with groups of white wen attacking visiting newsmen. Four white men attacked Don Uhrbrock and Don Underwood Underwood of Life magazine and Simmons Fentress of Time magazine. The attackers pushed Urhbrock through a plate glass window. Later In the day, a group of Bus Rioters Attack 3 Newsmen six white youths attacked As sociated Press photographer Fred Kaufman. One of them hit him three times behind the right ear before Kaufman reached the office of the Me Comb Enterprise J o u r n a: newspaper. WHEN NEW Nr-ro "free dom riders" arrived from Baton Rouge to test segre gated facilities in the McComb bus terminal, a group of white men cursed other newsmen whom police hustled into city hall for protection. The new riders apparently left McComb quickly by car.
