Death Barbara Jean Deaver father Marvin W Deaver - Peanuts Blamed For Girl's Death Modesto W If...
Peanuts Blamed For Girl's Death Modesto W If Barbara Jean Deaver hadn't been eating peanuts just before she stepped into deep water in the San Joaquin river, there might have been a chance to resuscitate the 8year-old child. But efforts to revive her after she was pulled from the river failed. Doctors at Stanislaus county hospital here said the neanuts had blocked her throat, preventing resuscitation. Barbara Jean and her sister, Lorie Lee, 4, were wading in shallow water at the Gardener's Grove picnic area Sunday when they stepped into deep water and were swept away. Their father, Marvin W. Deaver of Hall Ranch Road, Alvarado, Alameda County, was in the water some distance away. Hut he could not swim. Two friends from De- coto, Luis Hernandez and Darrcll Pruitt, went after the girls.
