NEOSHO BOY IN JAPAN With the Eighth Army in Beppu, Kyushu, Japan. — Pfc. James H. Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Butler of 411 West Adams St., Is now serving with the 19th Infantry Regiment, a unit of the 24th Infantry Division. The 24th. or "Victory" Division, is currently occupying the entire island of Kyushu, southernmost and third largest of the Japanese home islands. Pfc. Butler entered the army August 5, 1946, at Scott Field, Illinois, and prior to overseas shipment received basic training at Cam,P Polk, Louisiana. Contributing to the high morale of the 24th Division troops is the extensive athletic program offered this summer featuring teams playing full schedules in baseball, softball. volley ball, tennis, and golf. Other recreational facilities in- rlude iwell equipped gymnasi- i urns, swimming pools, and spacious theaters. Butler is a graduate of Neosho high school.
