PLAY WILL BE FEATURE OF SCHOOL OBSERVANCE The ' pupils and teachers of the Woodland grammar school are preparing for the Christmas program to be rendered Tuesday under the direction of Mrs. Myrtle Cloud. An excellent program, featuring a miracle, play, by Elizabeth McDadder, entitled "Why the Chimes Rang," will be rendered, first in the afternoon at 2 o'elock for the pupils and faculty, and tnen again in tne evening at a o'clock for the parents and patrons of the school, to whom a special invi tation is issued. The complete program follows: Part I Songs, '"Deck the Halls" and "Here We Come a Wassailing," by pupils of the fourth and. fifth grades. Playlet "Good King Wenceslas" King, Wayne Frazee; Page, Stewart Cranston. Christmas Song, by pupils of third grade. Song, ' - 'Away in - the Manger," by pupils of first grade. Carols, sung by carol singers and audience, accompanied by the school orchestra. Part II Play, "Why the Chimes Rang," with the following cast: Holger, .Clifford Christisen. Uncle Bertel, Oliver Orrick. Steen, Peter Garrette. Old Woman, Charlotte. Blizzard. King, Alfred DuBois. Courtier, Douglas Spencer. . Beautiful Lady, Mary Isabel Elberg. Court Lady, Jane Morris. Scholar, Elwood Williams. Rich Man, Bruce Beeman. Priest, Darrel Weston. Choir Singers, Girls and Boys' Glee Clubs.
