Visited Stock Farm. William F. Thomas, of route one, southeast of Greenfield, who is a raiser of thoroughbred Shorthorn cattle, visited the Shorthorn herd of Isome Denney in Vernon township a few days ago. Mr. Denney is the oldest breeder of Shorthorn cattle in Hancock county. He began when he was a very young man and has kept it up ever since. His sons are also stockmen and in addition to raising thoroughbred cattle they also raise thoroughbred draft horses. Mr. Denney and his sons are not only good judges of stock, but they are also good feeders and keep their stock always in fine condition. condition. The high prices prevailing for all kinds of marketable stock has also increased the price of thoroughbred thoroughbred breeding stock, so that buyers of this class may just as well make up their mind to pay more for that kind of stock. If marketable stock for meat purposes advance from 30 to 40 per cent, in price it is only natural that breeding stock, the foundation for marketable stock should also advance. Any one having timber of any kind should call or write J. M. Witte, Greenfield, Ind. Phone 458. 8d6
