JERSEYVIUiE, July 3.—(Special)—Following 3.—(Special)—Following illnesses of long duration, t*o veil-known resident of Jerseyvllle died Tuesday after noon at their homes in this city. Charles A Beatty, a retired far mer of Jersey county, died at his home on North State street at o'clock. H; would have been years of age July 19. He was the son of Robert S. and Eliza Buchannan Beatty and was born In Jersey county, where h had spent his entire life. For many years ho was actively engaged in farming, but for the past 21 year had been retired and had made his home tn Jerseyville. On Dec. 12 1883 Mr. Beatty was married to Miss Leila McClure of Jerseyvllle who survive.? him. In addition to his widow, Beatty is survived by two daughters, Mrs P. E. Jones of Lexington, Ky., anc Mrs. Harry Kirby of Fleldon; two sons, J. Fred of Chicago and Charles, jr., of this city; three grandchildren, Dorothy Jones Harry Lee Kirby, and Charlene Beatty; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Stanley Stanley of Tulsa, Okla., and one brother, brother, George B. Beatty of Jerseyvllle Funeral services will be held from the home Friday at 3 o'clock with the Rev. C. C. Dawdy officiating Interment will be in the Oak Grove cemetery.
