For years he worked at his trade, as blacksmith, in the C & E. shops, where he was a general favorite with all, and his death causes much sorrow among his friends and' shop - mates. I He was a very strong man and it was the delight of the boys to have a couple of his shopmates get into a tussle with him, when he would take one in each hand and bump them together. About fifteen ; months ago, while working at his fire, he received a para lytic stroke and fell to the ground. He was taken home, where, for a long time, he hovered between life and death, when he finally revived some, but never fully recovered. During that time he was brought to the city twice, in an invalid's chair. On last Thursday he received another stroke, which was the cause of his death, al though he was in a conscious condition up to within a I few minutes of his death.
