Man Accused Of Trying To Kill Wife, Son By DAVID RANDELL News Mainland Bureau SANTA FE-Attempted murder charges were filed Thursday morning against Steven Lee Barker, 22, accused of trying to murder his wife and son by setting fire to their trailer house at 11228 28th St. Sheriff's Deputy W.J. Moffitt arrived at the burning trailer at 12:17 a.m. and was taken aside by Barker's mother-in-law, who reportedly said Barker set the fire to kill his wife, Ronda Kay Barker, 21, and their son, Moffitt said he found the wife hiding in a closet in her mother's nearby house, afraid to come out because she feared her husband world try to harm her.
