to of scrap-book, of a WOODMEN OF THE WOULD Santa Cruz camp, No. 156, held their regular meeting Thursday evening evening with a, large attendance notwithstanding notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather. The applications of four new members were acted upon favorably favorably by the members, also the transfer of Neighbor C. W: Scofield from Evergreen camp, No. 147, of Everett, Washington. The camp is making great preparation for the third of the joint initiations of the Monterey Bay camps to be held at Monterey, Friday evening, February 20. The initiatory work will be exemplified exemplified by the team and officers of Santa Cruz camp. Of the hundred hundred candidates to be introduced at this initiation, this camp will have twenty-one. twenty-one. twenty-one. A committee consisting consisting of J. T. Minear, W. N. Kastor and A. J. Thorp were appointed to have in charge the transportation. VALEXTIXE SEASOX WITH REBEKAHS Valentines were lavishly and effectively effectively arranged at the Odd Fellows Fellows hall last night, when Isabella Rebekah lodge had a party for this gay season. After an excellent pro gram,, there was serving of punch, with heart-shaped heart-shaped heart-shaped cookies, in the center of which was a red heart made of candy. The committee consisted of Mrs. Ethel Norton, Mrs. Hattie. Mather, Mrs. Mabel Noble, Mrs. Ida Owens and Miss Ada McGee. A prize of a large candy heart was won by Mrs. Ida Caplatzi in a unique contest. The name of all the states of the union were posted up on the walls. Each was to pick out her own native state, and give an impromptu description of it. She was not to name it but was to so describe it that the others could guess which one it was. WHIST PARTY', MOOSEHEART LEGION The Mooseheart Legion whist party last night brought out ten tables of players. There was a prize at each table, going to the following: following: Theo. Ebert, Mrs. Theo. Ebert, Mrs. J. A. Moore, M. E. Rol lins, Mrs. A. D. Murphy, Mrs. Meach- Meach- fcm, C. E. Swift, Mrs. Hettie Laglo and Mrs. L. H. Anderson. These parties are to be held every two weeks, according to Legion plans. ELKS' TROOP OF BOY SCOUTS The local Elks had a part in the ceremony of conferring tenderfoot badges on a large number of Boy Scouts of the Elk troop last night. Scoutmaster James Mann chose different different members to do this at the ceremony before tho lodge. First the older Scouts gave a symbolic program and then the younger boys filed in for their pins and a hearty handshake from their sponsors. The boys who received their pins, or are entitled to them, are Fred Houck, C. W. Dudley, Donald Smith, Charles Ivens, Fred Whitmore, Brandon Murphy, Billy Hill, James Richards, Joe F- F- Silva, Robert Hughes, Harry Lucas, Oran Davis, Richard Lane, Elmer Marcen, Ed- Ed- jb win Strong, Walter Petitdidier, ! Wayne Piper, Joe Bird, Cecil Searle, 5 Paul Crabtree, George Garble, Bob;! Kelly, Keith Smith, Raymond i Smith, Christian Harrison, James;! Mann, Lloyd Foster, V. E.
