RAY CLICK WAS RELEASED WED- NESDAY ON A $15,000.00 BOND j The examining trial of Ray Click, charged with the killing of Charley W. Walker on Thursday September 11, was held Tuesday afternoon before' Justic J. B. Mayes in the district' court room, which was crowded to ita fullest capac{ ty wlth spectators who came from all parts of the county and' town to hear the testimony. l The State was represented by F. H., Hammond, district attorney and Lawrence L. Bruhl, county attorney, while the defendant was represented by A.' G. Mueller and Alfred P. C. Petsch. Only four witnesses were used at ' this trial, J. B. Long, L. C. Scott and Mrs. Bourland, all eye-witnesses to the killing, and testifying about the same thing, saying that Walker was running around the street grader, begging for his life, and Click was after him with his gun. The other witness ; used was C. M. Wallace, deputy sher- iff, to whom Click surrendered after the killing. The defense did not introduce any testimony at this trial, waiving ev- erythlng. It was agreed between the council that this was a bailable case **"* Justice Mayes fixed the bond at $15,000.00, which was given yesterday afternoon, and Click was released from the jail by Sheriff Dan Me Don- ' aid as soon as he accepted the bond. Click is now out to await action i of the grand jury at the next term of district court.
