(79*) Algona Poet Recognized For Her Work Margaret and Carrie Durrant had as visitors last Friday Henry Picola of Paterson, New Jersey, and Marcella Rossiter of Manly. Mr. Picola is the founder of the International Poets' Shrine in Paterson, a collection of poetry books, manuscripts, and art objects gathered from all over the world and housed In an old mansion called Lambert Castle. Several of Miss Margaret Durant's poems, in manuscript form, are on exhibit there. Mr. Picola's chief reason for calling was to present Margaret with a membership pin of the International Academy of Poets. He considered this due to Miss Durant in recognition of her years of service in various literary groups, state, regional and national. Marcella Rossiter is a poet and newspaper columnist and area representative for the Poet's Shrine in New Jersey. County History Group Will Meet Sunday The annual fall meeting of the Kossuth County Historical Society will be held in the Legion hall at Swea City Oct. 24 at 2 p. m. Members and the general public are invited to attend, according to C. R. Schoby, president. Mr. and Mrs. Dettmer Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones of Swea City head up the committee in charge. Antiques from the Swea City area will be on display. Visitors are welcome to bring items for exhibiting. Following a short program, coffee will be served and a social hour enjoyed.
