Sunday, October 23, 1983 Pharos-Tribune, Logansport, Indiana Page Notion Drifter Admits Killing John Walsh is relieved United Press International Wounded attorney James Piszczor Carried to ambulance after shooting 'Bitter' Man Kills Judge, Attorney CHICAGO (UPI) A paraplegic ex-police officer described as a bitter man Saturday was ordered held without bond in the courtroom slayings of a judge and an attorney. Hutchie T. Moore was charged in the fatal shootings Friday of Cook County Circuit Court Judge Henry A. Gentile, 63, and attorney James Piszczor, 34, in Gentile's courtroom. Moore has been confined to a wheelchair since he was shot by his son, but Moore's lawyer said he saw him rise from his chair to fire.

A neighbor said Moore is a bitter man who blamed his son for his disability. "He was always a bully-type guy," said Lydell Marion. "He has been bitter all his life." Gentile, holding a post-decree hearing, denied Moore's request for a new lawyer and accused him of stalling. Suddenly, Moore pulled a gun from under a blanket and gunned down the judge and his ex-wife's lawyer. HOLLYWOOD, Fla.

(UPI) A drifter who said he wandered the country killing at random confessed Friday to the notorious 1981 kidnap- murder of Adam Walsh, whose severed head was found in a Florida canal, police announced. Hollywi Police Chief Sam Martin said Otis Elwood Toole, a 36-year-old partner of confessed multiple-killer Henry Lee Lucas, admitted that Adam was among 35 to 50 people he had killed. "He said he picked up the boy outside the mall, took him out to the turnpike," Martin told reporters at a dramatic late-night news conference. "He lured him into his car, promising him candy and toys. "Toole confessed to 35 to 50 homicides," Martin said.

"He gave details of murders he and Lucas committed. The details make Charles Manson sound like Tom Sawyer or Huck Assistant police chief Leroy Hessler said Toole gave details that were "grisly and heinous beyond belief." "There are certain details only he could know," Hessler. "He did it. I've got details that no one else would know. He's got me convinced." 'Bubble Boy' May Shatter Confines HOUSTON (UPI) David, the 12-year-old "bubble was in good spirits and excellent condition Saturday following an experimental bone marrow transplant doctors hope will enable him to walk into the world for the first time in his life.

"He's in excellent condition. There are no problems," said Susannah Moore Griffin, spokeswoman at Baylor College of Medicine. David suffers from severe combined immune deficiency, a rare disease that prevents his body from fighting infections. Friday he received an 10-minute experimental bone marrow transfusion from his 15-year-old sister that docors hoped would help him. European Missile Deployment Certain AUGUSTA, Ga.

(UPI) President Reagan accused the Soviet Union Saturday of a "a campaign to intimidate the West," but said Moscow's intransigence in arms control negotiations will not block deployment of new missiles in Europe. "We will continue our efforts to make the Soviets heed the will of the world, stop stonewalling and start negotiating in good faith," Reagan said. As anti-missile protestors staged demonstrations across Western Europe and the United States, Reagan aimed his weekly radio address at the peace movement at home and abroad and blamed the Soviets for the absence of an agreement to limit the medium-range nuclear missiles.
