Band Mothers Of LuVerne Meet & Plan The first meeting of the 196566 school year of the Music Mothers Club was held in the school lunchroom *of the Lu- Verne Community high school with the new president, Mrs. Orville Hurlburt presiding. Routine business was taken care of. The club will again serve lunches after each home basketball game during the season. The Misses Clara Schnakenberg and Sheri Ramus, Iowa State University of Ames were weekend guests in the parental Thees Schnakenberg and Bert Ramus homes. Dean Trauger and Ronald Trauger of Mankato State College of Mankato, Minn., were recent visitors with their parents, the Harold and James Trauger families. New books were place in the LuVerne Library, Mrs. Charles Hinz, librarian has announced. They are books concerning the Kossuth County Antique Show in Algona on October 22. The Extension Service in Kossuth County has asked that the public libraries in the area display books on antiques. Attending a North Iowa Conference Music Workshop of the National Fellowship of Methodist Musicians in Hampton from the LuVerne Methodist Church were Mrs. Lucinda Stone, Mrs. Edward Lindebak, Mrs. William Goetsch, the Misses Rita Patterson, Dawn Lindebak andGret- chen Zentner. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gronbach and granddaughter, Vickie Gronbach, were guests of their daughter, the W. Dale Brayton family in Sheffield. Miss Sandra Stripling of Des Moines was a weekend visitor of her mother, Mrs. Jessie Stripling and family. Anton Stoebe was a surgical patient at the Evangelical hospital at Marshalltown. Still omitted were names of LuVerne young people who are attending college. Richard Blake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Blake began his junior year at Morningside College, Sioux City and Mary Daley, her junior year at Drake University in Des Moines. Action At LuVerne Cheerleader's tryouts were held on Friday, October 1, and by vote of the student council and the faculty the following girls were selected to be cheerleaders for the LuVerne nigh school for the 1965-66 season: Linda Rugg, Cindi Rugg, Elaine Schnakenberg and Coleen Johns. , ... The LuVerne Community school band will march Friday afternoon! October 8 in Renwick for the Boone Valley School Homecoming parade.
