"Yes, the deal has been completed," said Ron Hingst, a spokesman for Mona-ghan's Domino's Pizza Inc. "No price was announced. Our intention is to continue PASS as in the past." PASS, since 1984, has carried 80 Tigers games a season.

PASS also carries some Red Wings and Pistons games and other area sports. The new formal owner of PASS will be Domino's Pizza Monaghan's Ann Arbor-based company. That telecast will be on Saturday afternoon, when NBC's Game of the Week, is seen on Channel 4. One other game, Thursday night's, win be televised by PASS, the pay-cable ts station.

4 Unless Tigers President Jim Campbell chooses to change his policy, the other two games on Friday night and Sunday afternoon won't air. The Tigers sell television rights to nine home games on WDIV and 56 home games on PASS. A few more home games are shown on NBC and ABC on Saturday afternoon or Monday nights. Bill Wischman, general manager of PASS, said he is calling the Tigers' front office every day, hoping the club will relent and sell the games to him. Campbell said Tuesday that the only way the games would be made available to TV is if "every nook and cranny" were sold out in advance, including bleacher seats.

Campbell added that, unless he changes his mind, bleacher seats wouldn't be sold until the day of each game making telecasts impossible. The Tigers ticket office said Tuesday that, aside from bleacher tickets, only obstructed-vie seats remain for the first three abrhbl abrhbi 5 110 Raines If 5 2 2 2 5 111 Webster rf 4 12 0 0 0 0 0 Brooks ss 4 2 10 Coleman OSmllh ss Herr 2b Lawless 2b Dawiey Morris ph Bell If 4 0 11 Calderon rl 4 12 0 McGriff dh 4 2 2 2 Walker lb 4 0 0 0 Barfleld rf 3 0 0 0 Hulelt 3b 3 0 10 Mulllnlks 3b 3 0 10 Balnes ph 10 10 2 2 0 0 Wallach 3b 5 2 2 2 0 0 0 0 Galarrag lb 3 2 2 1 1 0 0 0 Law 2b 4 0 12 4 12 1 Nichols cf 110 0 Gruber 3b 0 0 0 Guillen ss 4 0 0 McGee cf Pendleton 3b 3 0 1 0 Johnson ph 10 0 0 Upshaw lb 3 0 0 0 Manrique 2b 3 0 2 0 lorg 2b 3 110 Llndsey 3 0 0 0 Llndeman lb 3 0 1 I Parrell 10 0 0 lOTlls 344 94 Totals 33171 Oquendo rf 2 0 11 Fitigerald 0 0 0 0 Toronto 100 101 100' Pena Chicago 000 000 IN- I 4 0 0 0 McClure 10 0 0 3 0 0 0 Wnnnghm cf 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Healon 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 St. Claire 0 0 0 0 Game-winning RBI: Bell (9). Rangers pitcher Charlie Hough spoke Tuesday night on behalf of fellow knuckleballer Joe Niekro of the Minnesota Twins, who was ejected from a game Monday night when an emery board was found in his back pocket during the game. "It's a common practice for knuckieball pitchers to carry them," Hough said before Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox. "I carry one all the time. But I carry it in my cap not in my pocket, where it might get wet." In the fourth inning of the Twins' game against California, home plate umpire Tim Tschida and second base umpire Steve Palermo ordered Niekro who pitched for the Tigers from 1970-72 to empty his pockets, and an emery board was found. Niekro was immediately ejected, and could be suspended for 10 days.

The American League is inspects the balls he used, and will offer a ruling within a couple of days. Hough said the emery board is necessary to file the fingernails down to the proper length and to smooth any rough spots on the skin of the fingertips. "You can't cut up a ball with an emery board," said Hough, who then took a board out of his cap and vigorously worked over a baseball with it. "It doesn't do anything to the ball at all." But Hough said that cutting a baseball does make the ball travel erratically. I think the owner will run me out of town before it gets too late there."
