Upp.r DM Molnw ttiMday, Stpt. 28, 1965 Ex-Bancroft Girl Selected For Modeling School CHRISTINE ECKHART Miss Christine Eckhart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Eckhart, Gary, Indiana, has been selected to attend Patrica Stevens Modeling School in Chicago, HI. Her major will be photography. She attends the modeling school part time until June 1st when she completes her high school. Christine attended St. John's school in Bancroft before moving to Gary last June. Burt Girl Gets Nurse Stripes In Des Moines Patricia Schwietert, of Burt, a junior this year, was among 143 students in Iowa Methodist school of Nursing to receive promotional stripes at annual striping ceremonies Friday, Sept. 17, in the School of Nursing Auditorium. The 76 new Juniors, each received single black stripes to wear with the ones they were awarded when they became Juniors. Upon graduation a single broad black band is awarded to wear on the cap. Each school of nursing has its individual cap design and insignia. The stripes are symbols of promotion in the school of nursing and rank next to receiving the caps themselves in highlights of the school of nursing program. YOU SAW SAMPLES ON TV... JOE - Mary Lou Gales was honored at a pre-nuptial shower Sunday with relatives and friends attending the courtesy. Mary Kay Lane and Eleanor Becker assisted the honoree at the gift table. Mary Sue Zeimet and Sheryl Weydert were in charge of the guest book. The afternoon was spent playing 500 and socially. Mrs. Lorenz Bormann and Mrs. Cyril Kellner received high and second high prizes in cards. Beverly Laubenthal received door prize. Miss Gales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Gales of St. Joe, will be the bride of Robert J. Lane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Lane of Humboldt, Oct. 2 at 10:00 in St. Joseph's Catholic church. - o - Norman Joseph Kunkel, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Kunkel, born on Sept. 8, was baptized in St. Joseph's church Sunday by Rev. Leo C. Schumacher. Mr. and Mrs.Virgil Kunkel were sponsors. Mrs. Richard G. Thul from here and her mother, Mrs, Mollie Foth, Livermore, attended funeral services in St. Johns Catholic church, Bancroft, Monday for Joseph Ford, 58. Mr. Ford was a cousin of Mrs. Thul. Mrs. John Thul, Mrs. George Wagner, Mrs. Harold Reding, Mrs. Alfred Reding, Mrs. Milford Plathe and Jennifer, Mrs. Raymond Kohlhaas, Mrs. Richard Thul and Mrs. Sylvester Wagner were Tuesday visitors at the home of Mrs. Nick Eischen, St. Benedict. Mrs. Eischen is a sister of Mrs. Thul and an aunt of the other visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Eischen have recently returned home from a 10 day visit with Mrs. Eischen's brother, John Kayser, 90, Yamhill, Ore. Georgia Thul, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard G. Thul, is attending Mankato Commercial College in Mankato. Georgia is a 1965 Gar rigan high school graduate. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kohlhaas, Mary, Therese, Carol and Harley spent Sunday with Daryl Kohlhaas at the Trinity Prep School in Sioux City. Daryl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kohlhaas, is a freshman. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brofer, Fort Dodge, were visitors here Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Wagner. Mrs. John Hilbert, St. Joe, is convalescing at the home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Denclau, at Vincent since her release from Mercy hospital, Fort Dodge. Mr. and Mrs. Milford Plathe took their daughter, Kristine, a 1965 Gar rigan high school graduate, to Dubuque where she is enrolled in Clarke College as a freshman. Virgil Wagner, son of Mrs. Adeline Wagner, a junior, and Art Becker, senior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Becker, are attending the University of Iowa at Iowa City. Charles Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Becker, a 1965 Garrigan graduate, is enrolled . ^le Grove Community Collegt, having received an athletic scholarship.
