last meeting of the Board of Trustees which took place on Wednes day night One of the most important things done for the good of the town was th6 ordering of a culvert to be placed across Addison street bo as to conduct the waters flowing down Addison street into Straw berry creek The matter of house numbering came up for discussion and bids for doing this work were received A franchise to the Oakland Consolidated Railroad Company was given for the first time The franchise comprises a route of street railroad from the south boundary line and Adeline street along Adeline street to Shattuck to University avenue to Ox fordstreet to Roe street also from Sher man street and University avenue easterly to Shattuck avenue also from Sherman and University avenue northeasterly to Rose and Oxford also from the south boundary line and College avenue north erly to Durant avenue and Dana street The work on these lines will be started within ninety days In regard to the fran chise granted this company in the matter of which the company had not complied with the stipulation of riling bonds Major McElrath who was present explained that they had not been able to obtain certified copies of the papers Hence the delayHe now presented a new franchise cover ing the same grounds Mr Irwin of Lorin was present and re ported that the contractors who were about to take the contract for the south main sewer off the original hands had ithdrawn as they found the figures too close to entertain Mr Irwin also spoke of the matter of electric lights in Lorin' He urged that the promised lights be put up at an early date as they were badly needed It was explained that they would be in position in a few days and the following locations have been named for three lights: Corner of air view and Calais streets corner of elton and Paradise streets and one at the station Bruce Young lives with his parents on orty second street He is a young lad of about 1G years and a few nights ago he and his mother
