Ulrich, the white man who was charged with assault upon Booker T. Washington, the negro -aduactor, was acquitted today in the court of special sessions.

The trial began this morning. After acquittal Ulrich was rearraigned on a charge of deesrtion. NEW YORK, Nov. Washington appeared in court here today as the principal witness at the trial of Harry A. Ulrich, a white man, who gave the famous negro educator a beating one night last March, when he found "him in the vestibule of an apartment house where Ulrich roomed on West Sixty-third street.

Ulrich was arrested on a charge of assault. Washington testified he had gone to the partment house looking for a white friend, and that he was looking at door plates whan the defendant ran into the hallway and assaulted him with a stick.
