Detroit News Sunday, December 21, 1997 Viola Logan Miller, 76, area teacher, principal By Suzette Hackney The Detroit News Viola Logan Miller dedicated much of her life to children her own and those who entered her classroom or office. She worked for 38 years as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal for Inkster and Detroit Public Schools. "She was the kind of individual who felt that with guidance and love, all children could succeed," said her daughter, Violet Crawford. "She was Mrs. Miller also completely Mrs.

Miller devoted to her family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for the family." Mrs. Miller died at home Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1997, of cancer. She was 76.

At age 15, she entered West Virginia State College and earned a bachelor's degree in Education. After graduation she taught in Brooklin Bottom, West Va. Mrs. Miller moved to Detroit and, in 1950, received a master's lic Schools for 18 years. After that, she worked as a counselor and assistant principal in Detroit Public Schools.

She retired as principal of Vandenberg Elementary School in 1989. "I always think that if you look up the word mother or educator in the dictionary her picture would be there," Crawford said. "She was the best mother and definitely the definition of the educator." Mrs. Miller was an active member of Tabernacle 1 Missionary Baptist Church. She served on numerous church committees.

She also was involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; the National Sorority of Phi Delta "Kappa Chi Chapter; and Phi Delta Kappa the University of Detroit Chapter. In addition to her daughter, survivors include her husband of 50 years, Leo; and a brother, Theodore Logan. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today in Murdock Funeral Home, 8033 Puritan in Detroit. Desmond Sons, (248) 549-0500. Richard BUSENHART Manager at two papers in Detroit Richard Busenhart, a former Detroit Times and Detroit Free Press circulation manager, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, of a heart attack in Detroit. Mr. Busenhart, 73, began working for the Times at age 12 as a delivery boy.

He joined the Navy during World War II. The Lexington, resident loved to work with charities and delivered meals to homebound seniors three times a week after retiring from the Free Press in 1990. He also was very involved in the Lexington Lions Club. Mr. Busenhart's survivors include daughter, Pam; and son, Ron.

Visitation is set for 2-9 p.m. today at Tomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. The funeral is set for 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet in Detroit.

She was 97. Mrs. Diamond, a special education teacher, obtained her driver's KETTLER license in 1915. Mrs. Diamond, of Southfield, received the key to the city of Detroit from former Mayor Coleman A.
