By Marty Niedbala Free Press Special Writer Freshman Eric Linch scored the winning touchdown on a one-yard run with 9:44 left Saturday, leading visiting Grand Valley State to a 13-10 victory over Wayne State.

Linch's touchdown run capped an 80-yard, 15-play drive that gave the Lakers a 13-3 lead. The extra point was missed and Wayne freshman Steve Lee returned the ensuing kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown. The Tartars (1-3, 0-2 Great Lakes Conference) had a chance to win, but fumbled at the Lakers' 4 with five minutes left. Freshman quarterback Jack Hull ran 45 yards on an option play in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead for Grand Valley (3-2, 1-0). Junior Bob Klick kicked a 41-yard field goal in the first quarter for Wayne.
