Powell, United States Division Engineer, yesterday Issued his weekly report on activities in engineer districts of the Ohio River division. CINCINNATI DISTRICT. Removal of earth and trees left by a bank slip above guide wall April 20, blocking entrance to lock, was completed May 8, restoring project depth to upper Removal of sunken barges above and below the beartmps at Dam 33, Ohio River, was completed May 13. A wrecked motorboat that was obstructing the lower end of the Chilo Reach channel below Dam No. 34 was removed.

1 Dredging of the channel of Little Scioto Bar, Ohio River, at Sciotoville Is In progress. H. E. Pogue Distillery Company, Mays-vllle, has applied for a permit to construct a pumpboat and lay a pipeline downstream from the house on the left bank, Ohio River, near the mouth of Little Beas-ley Creek, below Maysvllle, 409.55 miles below Pittsburgh. LOUISVILLE DISTRICT.

The temporary channel dredged around the bend at Pecklnpaugh Bar In the pool of Dam 45 has been completed. The dredge Taber ts now engaged in dredging the permanent channel. The dredge Genevieve having completed a cut at Walker Bar In the pool of Dam No. 51, has moved to Raleigh Bar In the pool of Dam No. 50.

The dlesel boat Gillette departed for the upper regions of the Green River with derrtckboat No. 182, one scow and 3 barges. Serious navigation obstructions will be removed on the way, but the principal activity will be clearing the channel in the upper regions of the Green and Barren Rivers between the mouth and Bowling Green. PITTSBURGH DISTRICT. Inspection of navigation lights on bridges crossing 'the Ohio River May 8 disclosed that the red light on the downstream end of the left channel pier of the west end bridge was out.

This defective light was reported under repair, A public hearing is to be held at McKees-port, May 20, on the Baltimore A Ohio Railroad's application to construct a bridge across the Youghiogheny River, 2.7 miles above its mouth. HUNTINGTON DISTRICT. The dredge Cincinnati continued in the lower approach to Locks 2, Marmet. Dredging In the lower approach to Locks No. 3, London, Kanawha River, has been completed.

The plant engaged In this work Is now removing snags and a few slips between London Lock and Lock No. 11. The flashing buoy at Knob Shoals, Kanawha River, was replaced May 12. The former buoy that had sunk was recovered. NASHVILLE DISTRICT, Three temporary buoys lost in the April flood have been replaced and two additional temporary buoys were placed along the sailing line opposite Brown's Island and approximately 15 miles above the General Joe Wheeler Dam.

A depth of five feet at low water Is afforded. An alternative channel along the left main shore, which affords a three-foot depth at low water, may be used at higher stages. Buoys have been placed as follows, all of which are red or nun buoys on left side of channel: Angle Dike, 288.3; Middle Angle Dike, 288.5; Lower Brown's Island, 290.6; Middle Brown Island's. 290.6; Middle Brown's Island Dike, 290.8. Numbers of aids are miles above mouth of river.

Navigators are warned to clear all buoys by at least 25 feet. THE RIVER. Clarence True Wilson, Washington, founder of the board and its Executive Secretary for 26 years. Dr. Wilson had asked permission to retire. It was the first time that the conference, which favored Dr. Cherrington with 306 votes, had elected the board's secretary.

ABRAHAM FELD. Abraham Feld, President of the Feld Furniture Company, which he founded almost 20 years ago, died arly yesterday at Jewish Hospital. He was 66 years old. In addition to his office in the Feld Furniture Company, Mr. Feld was a director of the Sherbrook Distributing Company.

He was active in the Loyal Order of Moose and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. More than 20 years ago he served as the first national Supreme Vice Commander of the Knights of Joseph. He was an officer of Lexington Avenue Temple. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Katie Feld, and two daughters, Misses Natalie and Eleanor Feld.
