the current col lection period according to John McCreight county auditor HURT IN ALL Martha Robbins Hillsboro Rt 2 was admitted to Highland District Hospital Sunday after she fell on ice and injured seeing Reffitt take the money from Rowland Apparently both the alleged as sailants and victim had been drink ing in the opinion of police An attempt to tie the incident in with union activity at the report covering Highland County payrolls and workers under the state law The report covers the industrial group Which includes employees in quarries construction mahu NAMED TO COMMITTEES James Hapner Highland County' representative has been named to committees on government oper ations industry and labor and taxation of the OJuo House of Re presentatives DRIVER CITED Eileen Dinsmore Portsmouth was cited by the depart ment on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident The mishap occurred on Jan 7 and the driver was traced down and cited The accident was on State Route 73 about one quarter of a mile south of Berrysville The car wentliff the road and through a fence on the West farm causing about $35 damage 145th No 102 This figure includes $9114282 in delinquencies and forfeitures and the remainder covers realty taxes public utility taxes and spe cial assessments with which High land Countians' are charged for payment in 1963 Actually some of the delinquencies have been paid but the entire figure" is carried on county books at the outset The current charge is $131639 higher than the record breaking charge of $1410449 last year TRUCK HITS METER Herbert Rosendaul 57 of 102 Josie $5871 in 1961 $5573 in I960 $5252 in 1959 $5035 in 1958 $4 261 in 1957 and $3956 in 1956 However membership fees from the sale of membership tickets pro duced an additional $140637 which must be Highland County Safety Council wJU be held this Wednesday Jan 16 at 8 in the court house and everyone interested in safety is invited toJattend The program will feature the showing of a new film ized prepared by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to dramatize the need for highway safety by showing scenes of actual highway accidents Robert Meredith district fieldman of the Ohio Department of Highway auxiliary buildings oundry on Catherine Street in the northern part of the city Sunday night iremen theorized that an oil salamander (heater) in the buildingjnay have exploded and set it on fire" a The fire which developed con siderable smoke and dlame was discovered about 11:30 but had made such headway that fire men could do little to save the structure Water line difficulties were also experienced One section of the building built of concrete block was saved but it was damaged The other end of frame construction was virtually a total loss Most of the blaze was in that end The room for the foundry which makes grey iron castings and contained considerable machinery including a valuable sandblasting unit The latter however is located in the concrete block section and may have
