The matrons of St. John's Church congregation will give a card party and supper this afternoon and evening in the school hall. Mrs. Francis X. Siegel, pianist, and her daughter, Miss Catherine Siegel, have arranged an attractive musicale for Thursday evening, February 4, for the patients at St.

Francis Hospital and their friends. Mrs. Siegel will give a number of selections on the piano and will, accompany Miss Siegel on the harp. Dr. Francis X.

Siegel wilt assist with the evening's entertainment by showing a series of interesting movie pictures. WEDDINGS Wednesday morning, at St. Clement's Church, Miss Frances Nuesse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nuesse, was married to Mr.

Frank Lauch, son of Mrs. J. J. Lauck. Rev.

Father Juvenal officiated. The bride's sister, Mrs. Herman Brendel, was matron of honor, and wore a pink crepe gown with slippers and hat to match, and carried roses. After the board meeting Miss 'Elizabeth Knapp, who took charge in the absence of the President, Mrs. Herbert Trefzger, announced that beginninc this year, the girls who graduate in June will be invited to such reunions in order to become acquainted with the activities of the association. The musical program this year will include piano selections by Miss Anne Power, who graduates in June; contralto solos by Miss Louise Kleve and two piano numbers by Miss Sylvia Kleve and Mr. John B. Sheblessy, who have been doing a great amount of dual piano work this year.

Mr. and Mrs. Justin Rammelsberg, of Louisville, have the good wishes of many Cincinnati friends for their baby girl, born last Sunday. The Masonic Circle of Cincinnati will hold its annual masque carnival ball in the ballroom of Hotel Gibson Saturday night. There will be elaborate decorations to add to the beauty of arrangements for the affair.

The grand march will start at 10 o'clock, after which masks will be removed. A surprise party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George See-wald last week in celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Mr. Rob ert Heisler, brother of the hostess.

Saturday evening at the Concordia Lutheran Church Miss Rose Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmidt, became the bride of Mr. Carl Filter, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Henry Filter. Preceding the ceremony a program of organ music was given by Mr. M. F. Kollmorgen, and Mr.

Edgar Wickemeyer sang vocal selections. The chancel of the church was decorated with palms, ferns and roses and aglow with cathedral tapers. The ushers, Messrs. Walter Beck-mann, and Charles Schmidt, brother of the bride, led the bridal procession and were followed by the bridesmaid, Miss Meta Mueller, who was attired in blue satin with accessories of pink and carried pink rosebuds with a shower of blue ribbons. Immediately preceding the bride was her maid of honor, Miss Margaret Schmidt, wearing a gown of pink satin with accessories of blue.

Her flowers were pink rosebuds. The bride entered on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore a gown of ivory satin. A cap of lace held in place her long tulle veil. She carried a bouquet of bridal roses and valley lilies.

The bridegroom and his groomsmen, Mr. Otto Filter, brother of the groom, and Mr. Frank Gutknecht, of Columbus, met the bride at the foot of the chancel stairs, where Rev. O. H.

Schmidt officiated at the ritual. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Filter will be at home to their friends after February 10 in College Hill.

Miss Marie Fields, whose marriage to Mr. Howard Bettman will be an event of February 4, was the guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower and bridge party given last Sunday by Miss Cecilia Roth. James Strauss and William Ware as the ushers. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carroll, of Butte, were called to Cincinnati by the death of their mother, Mrs. Belle Piatt Carroll, formerly of Covington, who for the past year with her daughter, Miss Laura Carroll, resided in the Warwick Apartment in Avondale.

Mrs. Carroll was the mother of the late Robert de Valcourt Carroll and Louis Carroll, both of whom resided in Covington. She was a member of one of the eldest and most aristocratic pionear families of Cincinnati, a woman of unusual charm, brilliancy and humor, who although she had passed her four score years graced society with the same sparkling vivacity that endeared her to her many friends and made her a reigning belle in her girlhood. Mrs. Louise Gerner entertained with a luncheon at the Cincinnati Club Tuesday in compliment to the members of her bridge club, at which covers were placed for Mrs.

H. C. Holton, President of the group, will preside. The annual ball of the Cincinnati Lions' Club was held last night at the Hyde Park Country Club, with 150 couples of members and guests present from various parts of Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The ball included dinner at 6:30 o'clock, a novelty floor show, dancing and cards.

Mr. Frank J. Van Alstlne was General Chairman of the Ball Committee. Mr. Oscar Frank was in charge of the Reception Committee.

A spirit of hospitality will permeate the Grand Theater the night of February 15, when the Woman's City Club holds its theater party for Marc Connelly's much-discussed play, "Green Pastures." The party will be open to the public and part of the proceeds will be devoted to the unemployed.
