(AP) Running back Herschel Walker ran for 164 yards and a touchdown as the New Jersey Generals defeated the Memphis Showboats, 21-18, Friday night in a USFL game. Quarterback Doug Flutie passed for a 37-yard touchdown and scored another on a one-yard run for the Generals (6-3), who scored all their points in the second half. The Generals' only serious drive in the first half stalled at the Showboats' Yl with two minutes left. New Jersey took the second-half kickoff and moved 65 yards in five plays for a 7-3 lead on Flutie's pass to Walter Broughton. The Showboats regained the lead on Tim Spencer's five-yard run, which capped a 65-yard drive.
