Tuwday, June IS, 1965 Algeria, (la.) Upper Des Molnes File Three New Cases Here In District Court Three petitions, one asking damages, one asking a divorce and the third seeking settlement of a promissory note, were filed here in district court this week. Wayne Meyers, plaintiff, is seeking $15,000 damages from Lyle and Lora Raney, defendants, as the result of an alleged mishap at the Raney farm July 5, 1964. The plaintiff claims the defendants were negligent and as a result his son, Kevin, then 2, got his hand caught in a water pump and suffered severe and permanent injuries. Joane Austin Via, plaintiff, is seeking a divorce from Janes Henry Via, defendant. They were married at Hartsville, Tenn. Sept. 1, 1962 and have no children. The plaintiff charges cruel and inhuman treatment and asks $100 per month alimony and return of her maiden name. The Jerry E. Ukena Estate, plaintiff, seeks to settle a promissory note for $381.46 with Albert Harms, defendant. 4 Corners Club Holds Final Summer Session The Four Corners Mothers and Daughters club met at Good Hope church, June 1, with Marlys Bjustrom, Ruth Arend, Ruth Harlen, Deanne Gerber and Ber- , nice WaUcer. Program was in charge of Bernice Shaw, Laura Volgt and Dar- leiie Walker. Corsages were given to old and new officers and the youngest mother, Deanne Gerber. Iva Witham was given a corsage for having the youngest great-grandchild. Perfect attendance records for this last year were Grace Bjustrom, Marly* Bjustrom, Minnie Walker. A style show was presented and models were .Deanne Gerber, Marilyn and Marlys Bjustrom, Laura Voigt, Marguerite Kollasch, Eula Rich, Betty Fisher, Beverly Kuecker and Gladys Eisenbarth. Grace Bjustrom won the question contest. Birthday song was sung to Loretta Broesder and Marguerite Kollasch. The next meeting will be Sept. 9, at Grace Bjustrom'shome with Marguerite Kollasch as co-hostess. The program will be in charge of Opal Simpson and Sue Bjustrom. Algonan Hurt In One-Car Crash At Burt An Algona man was hospitalized with undetermined injuries following a one-car accident about 9p.m.Thursday about six miles northeast of Burt. He is William Wetzel, 20, who was driving a 1953 Chevrolet. He was making a turn in a southwesterly direction and missed a corner and the car rolled and came to rest on its wheels, It was estimated a total loss. Wetzel was brought by ambulance to St. Ann hospital in shock. Charges are pending. He was released from the hospital later.
