In the auditorium of Algona high school. Admission Is by Invitation only. Tickets can be obtained from the pupils. There Is no charge. - o - COUNTRY CLUB PARTIES Mrs. Leroy Geving, and Mrs. Ed Adams were hostesses at the weekly Country Club party held last week, and winners at cards were Mrs. Frank Zender, Mrs. 0. B. Harmes and Mrs. Don Ferris. Yesterday, Wednesday, a similar party took place and hostesses were Mrs. V. C. Smith and Mrs. J. C. Everds. - o - AT CONVENTION Ardeen Sampson, Corrinne Shimel, June Krull and Virginia Seeberg attended the Xi-Xi convention Saturday and Sunday, May 22-23, at the Savory hotel, Des Molnes. Four hundred and thirty young women were in attendance at the dinner Saturday evening and a large number attended the brunch Sunday. The convention will be held at Waterloo next year. - o - BRIDGE HOSTESS Mrs. Herbert Haas was hostess to her bridge club Wednesday, May 26. - o - SET TO MEET The Eight Specks club will meet Wednesday evening, June 2, with Mrs. Rose Sigsbee. - o - DINNER GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hagg had as dinner guests Tuesday even- Ing, May" 25, Gus Hagg and MrV and Mrs. Hugh Black and family. It was an observance of the birthday of Gus Hagg. - o - SHELLEY SCHENCK, 6 Mrs. Lee Schenck gave aparty May 18 in honor of the sixth birthday of her daughter, Shelley. Guests were Martha Baker, Shelley Bernardo, Sheryl Cook, Cheryl Knoer, Diane Lallier, Charlotte Lemkee, Becky Lemkee, Julie Llmbaugh, Wanda Metzger, Martha Nash, Debbie Purcell, Linda Struecker, Kathy Weber, Marcla Wagner, Connie Utt and the honoree's sisters Lisa and Lee Ann. Games were played and refreshments served. - o - BIRTHDAY CLUB Mrs. Howard Platt was hostess to the Happy Birthday club Friday. - o - SHOWER HONOREE Marlene Henderson was given a miscellaneous shower Thursday evening. Her marriage to Joe Cunningham of Burt will take place June 19 at 7:30 o'clock in the Methodist church. . o- PLAY BRIDGE Mrs, Bless Rusk entertained her bridge club Wednesday afternoon, Mrs, Leroy Geving was a guest, H-XI CHAPTER of Beta Sigma Phi met May 18 with Ardeen Sampson, It was the final meet- Ing of the year. Exemplar ritual degree was given to Lois Furst. Four members went to the State Convention in Des Moines May 81-28, Corrine Shimel, Virginia Seaberg, June Krull and Ardeen Sampson, BOB SCHNEIDER, son of Mr. gnd Mrs, Jim Schneider of Ai- gona, h.a@ enrolled at St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Minn, for a summer session. He has been in the produce department at Hood's store in recent months, YERN LUDWJQ, son of Mr. and Mrs, Yernell Ludwig, Algona, has gone to San Francisco where he will be employed as an engineer for Standard Oil Co, for the summer. Add onion during last 5 minutes of browning. Stir frequently so that meat and onion don't burn. After browning, add caraway, marjoram, garlic, salt and 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours or until beef is tender. Stir in paprika and catsup and simmer 10 minutes longer. Serves 6.
