Open Application in Area For Job Corps Unit Applicants for the Job Corps are now being processed by the Fort Dodge office of the Iowa State Employment Service according to office manager, Kenneth C. White. The Fort Dodge office serves a five-county area; Webster, Calhoun, Humboldt, Kossuth and Pocahontas counties. Interested applicants from these five counties should contact the office at 126 North 10th St. Applicants from other areas should contact the office of the Iowa State Employment Service nearest their homes, but will be processed in Fort Dodge if they choose to go there. Applicants to be considered must be between 16 and 21 years of age, both inclusive. Currently only male applicants are being taken, though an allocation for female applicants in the same age range is expected in the near future. Applicants may be assigned to an outdoors project in a national forest or reserve where they will learn outdoor trades and crafts or they may be assigned to an urban project where they will have an opportunity to learn a choice of many indoor jobs in manufacturing and other industries.
