k. WkA A $5 million libel and slander suit has been filed against the architects and planners of the proposed Pontiac football stadium. Charles Deaton, a Colorado charges that the, Birmingham firm of O'Dell, Hewlett and I.uckenbach and other members of the Pontiac Stadium design team made "malicious, slanderous statements" about his competence as a stadium architect. Deaton was once considered the prime contender to ripsign the million I. ions stadium in Pontiac.

However, the O'Dell firm finally the contract. Deaton filed the suit in Federal District Court here through his attorney F. Lee Bailey of Boston. Deaton claims the sladium designers told Pontiac city officials and other architects that he was "unethical" and dishonest in his practice of architecture and that he (Deaton) ought to he "hung to a tree" for his illegal and unethical acts in that he misrepresented himself as designer of the Kansas City, twin-stadia complex.
