A pass from Firin' Fred Enke, who gave another fine exhibition, placed the ball on the 3Ms-yard line. Enke's pass, intended for Oscar Carrillo, was incomplete, Enke lost a yard on a line plunge, Charley Hall was stopped for no gain, and Joe Goff then missed a placement which have broken the deadlock.

Enko captured the nation's total offense crown as ho reeled off 130 yards on passing and 13 rushing to bring his total for the season to 1,944. Charley Concrly, Mississippi star, who had played his last game the week previous, had 1,783 yards. Both men played in 10 games. Enko hnd a .500 average on passes Saturday, completing 12 out of 24. The slippery turf slowed up Wildcat receivers but no more than it did Utah's highly- touted backfiold which failed to match the speed shown by Kansas the previous week.

For the season, Enke' completed 88 out of 184 passes for 1,406 yams and a .483 average. The national passing record is 1,457 yards.
