Guard Col. A. O. Knoch Dies Services for Alfred O. Knoch, retired lieutenant colonel in the Michigan National Guard and office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance will be at, 1 p.m.

Wednesday at the Harry Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Redford Township. Mr. Knoch, 62, of Westland, died Saturday. He was a member of the Palestine Lodge No. 357, and former general chairman of the Veterans Day Committee of the Michigan State Fair.

He belonged to several service and veterans organizations and the Civil Air Patrol. During World War II, Mr. Knoch served as an artillery officer.in the Pacific. is survived by his wife, Katherine; a son, Alfred 0. Jr.

of Detroit; a daughter, Beverly two grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Curtis (Louise) Cooper. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Joseph M. Thomas, Contractor Services for Joseph M.

Kelly died Saturday in Botsford Hospital in Farmington Township. He was a buyer for 20 years for the J. L. Hudson and was employed there for 3 36 years. He was a member of the St.

(UPD A black bear attacked a camp in the northern Colorado mountains early Sunday, killing one man and biting his fiance before a third person drove it off with a frying pan. Professional hunters searched for the bear through the high mountains of the northern half of the state. The victim, John H. Richardson, 31, of Denver, had been on a camping trip with his fiance, Linda Moore, 27, of Van Nuys, Cal. Miss Moore was attacked when she ran to the tent where Richardson had been sleeping.

She was reported in satisfactory condition, suffering from a bite in the back, according to Grand County Coroner George Carlson. The victim's brother-in-law, G. H. Wadell, of Rowayton, also heard the screams and attacked the bear with a frying pan. The animal fled into the woods.
