Clemens is considered a top quarterback candidate, as is Chris Mushett, an all-Ohio choice from Norwalk, Ohio. Daugherty also managed to pick up his usual quota of Hawaiian players-Doug Won, a back from Honolulu, and Arnold Morgado, a lineman from Ewa. In addition to Russell, Orr got C. J. Kupec, a 6-foot-8 high school Ail-American from Oaklawn, Doug Ashworth, an all-stater from Beaver' Creek, Ohio; John Kantner, a 36-point per game guard at Toledo; and Joe Johnson of Kettering. Stewart, a sophisticated man and an astute observer of life, believes most Americans wouldn't understand that statement. "They're overprotected and spoiled," he said recently. "They can get everything they want from the Yellow Pages.

They're bored so they buy things like dune buggies to put some excitement into their lives. America really bores me. There's too much sameness." But Stewart makes an exception: "Ten years from mow, America will be very happy about today's younger generation.
