Tuesday, March 9, the group will hold a dinner at the Algona Hotel, with Mrs. Sally Christie from Wesley, a local member, to speak on the topic of "Investments." Local chapter members are Ruth McVay, president; Maureen Quinn, vice president; Helen Klein, secretary; Kathleen Griffin, treasurer; Lela Henderson, secretary; and Irene Griff in, historian. Other members are Mary Bruning, Dorothy Cogley, Helen Comfort, Wilma Cooksey, Anna Merritt, Alice Reding, Leona Smith, Ka'thryn Sorensen, Monica Storr, Hattie Wilson, Ella Zumach, Inez Wolfe and Sally Christie. The festivities are scheduled to get underway at 6:15 p. m. with a banquet at the Methodist church in Burt. The Burt Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star is completing arrangements for the banquet. Following the "banquet, the group will assemble in the Burt school gym where Kossuth Lodge will be opened by the local officers. M. W. Hoyt Woody, Grand Master of Masons in Iowa, and his corp of Grand Lodge officers will be officially received with a special tribute to Mr. Miller, the honored guest for the evening. The Grand Lodge Officers will then confer the second section of the Master Mason Degree on a local candidate. Mr. Miller was initiated Into Kossuth Lodge in March, 1950, and since that date has left an enviable record of service. Just 2 short years after he became a member of the lodge, he was appointed to serve as Jr. Deacon for the year 1952. As the years rolled on he served as Sr. Deacon, Jr. Warden and Sr. Warden in subsequent years. In 1956 he was elected Worshipful Master of the lodge. In December of 1959 he was elected to serve as Secretary of the lodge, and retained this office through the years of 1960 and 1961. <-*"*~'^ He is also a member of the Des Moines Consistory and the Abu Bekr Shrine of Sioux City.
