The Shorians of coach Mike D'Angelo made a second-half touchdown stand up for a 7-3 victory over Notre Dame. "We have very little experience," D'Angelo said after the game. "We pride ourselves on our defense, which has always won games for us." After Lake Shore marched 69 yards in seven plays in the second quarter to score on John Maiuri's one-yard dive, Notre Dame got on the board with a 33-yard field goal by Tony Soave with 1 1 1 5 left in the half. But as things turned out, that was to be all the scoring on a sunny afternoon.

Lake Shore made its four-point edge stand up in the second half when its defense took the ball away from Notre Dame five times, four times within the Lake Shore 20-yard line. It was Lake Shore's second straight victory. The Shorians shut out Anchor Bay last week, 17-0. Birmingham Brother Rice 20, Chicago St. Rita 12: All-State quarterback Dave Yarema completed 16 of 20 passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and the Warriors, now 1-1, rolled up 273 yards on the ground.

Yarema hit split end Paul Jokisch with TD passes of one and 14 yards and connected with Dan Hicks on an eight-yard scoring strike. St. Clair Shores Lakevlew 22, L'Anee Creuse 7: Huskies' quarterback Bill Coles fired two touchdown passes, one covering 21 yards to Frank Badalamenti, as Lakeview won its Bi-County season debut. Badalamenti added another TD on a 10 yard end-around scamper. Prater 23, Groase Polnte North 3: Junior fullback John Jefferson had scoring bursts of one and three yards to lead the Ramblers (2-0) past the Norsemen (1-1).

Walled Lake Western 1 9, Farmlngton 1 3: A six-yard run to pay dirt by fullback Stewart Deacon on the third play of overtime enabled the Eagles to come from behind. Quarterback Doug Day threw for two TDs for the winners in regulation time. Fordson 13, Monroe 10: The Tractors got a touchdown from quarterback Larry Kopchia on the second play of overtime to overcome a Trojan overtime field goal and capture their second win of the season and first in Great Lakes 8 action. Wyandotte Ml. Carmel 7, St.

Hedwlg 0: Greg Kuzia threw 22 yards to Keith Nabozny for the game's only points as the Comets shut out the Knights. Mt. Clemens 14, Grosse Polnte South 0: The Bathers got all their offense from halfback Andre Fullwood, as he tallied two touchdowns on runs of 21 and 40 yard9 and finished the afternoon with 182 yards on 28 carries.
