DETROIT Fl Saturday, May SACRED HEART ALUMNI WEEK Allies Muni On A-Arnis Seminarians, Profs View 'Freedom "I think that there could le a bit more freedom in the seminary with supervision. What I mean by thi is that seminarians are supposed to acquire a deep sense of responsibility that someda we will be able to serve the christian community responsibly. We are allowed freedom now to think and to act, but there Isn't too much room tor our own mistakes. Sometimes that's a good way to learn." Two of the group were attending the school, one in high school division, the other in the college section, both pre-theological. THE YOUNGEST, i Hovey, in fourth year high school, was explicit in his thought that there could be more freedom, while the older alumni took the more qualifying approach.

They apparently postponed tough decisions until a Novem ber meeting in Washington. A terse communique from the Nuclear Planning Group of thel North Atlantic Treaty Organiza-j tion said only that talks would! resume at the later conclave. THE MEETING here, attended by Secretary of Defense Melvin R. Laird, was called to consider a study by Britain and West Germany proposing guidelines for the use of nuclear weapons against a Soviet attack on Western Europe.

The guidelines were designed only as suggestions for President Nixon, who ultimately retains control over the use of these weapons. Informed accounts of the top secret meeting suggested some key differences In U.S. and European approaches to tactical questions. The communique, however, made no mention of this. It's use depends on the maturity of the individual. 'Enough' always depends on this maturity." Said the Rev. Father Louis Prohaska, Latin professor, the oldest in the group: "Freedom must always be accompanied by the ability and willingness 1(i fulfill corresponding duties.

Consequently my judgment about the amount of allowable freedom always has reference to the individual student. The more mature student can be granted greater freedom; the student who does not abide, by the necessary conditions of freedom, must, of course, temporarily forfeit it." Said the Rev. England Defends Transplant Team LONDON OJPI) The British government Friday defended a medical team which declared a young nurae dead whi her heart still was beating, and, who used her heart fo' a transplant. But the statement from David Ennals, minister of state for health and social security, did not quiet the controversy over transplants and the fine points of when a person should be declared dead. The donor. Margaret Sinsbury. 29.

was critically injured in a motor-scooter accident May 13, Her heart wa kept beating by a respirator. Doctors consulted her family about a possible transplant. THREE DAYS LATER at Guy's Hospital here, two doctors, not connected with the transplant operation, ruled there "was no evidence of any form of central nervous-system activity." The respirator was turned off, and two minutes later Miss SinsburVs heart stopped beating. The transplant team at Guy's then removed her hear, and later transplanted it into Charles Hendrick. a London book-company employe.

He is itil alive and in latia-factory condition. Ennals defended the doctors who had declared Miss Sinsbury clinically dead. He said their decision was approved by a coroner.
