He was born May 10, Orient to Ernest and Matilda (Mutchek) owned and operated Mills Turkey Farm in Benton for many years. life was he lived it one day at a time.He was a child of the Great Depression and understood that hard work was his opportunity to succeed.He enlisted in the U.S.Navy in 1939 and served his country in World War II on the USS Stewart and USS Columbia. The USS Langley and USS Pecos were lost at sea while he was aboard.He was rescued a second time by the USS dropped off survivors and then was also lost at sea. Mac made a living for his family as a coal miner.He worked at many different jobs for 42 years for Freeman United Coal Mining Co.He retired in 1986.

He was known for his great physical strength.He was a snow bird who traveled to Florida every winter. Mac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ernestine (Pugh) Mills; Mills; Hughes; Hughes; and Alan Hughes; and sister-in-law, Mary Mills. He is survived by his (Sharon) Mills, Doyle (Rita) (Nancy) E.Mills, Janet (Tom) Burns and Misty (Brad) Jovi; two brothers, Ernie (Alice) Mills and and Orange G. Mills of Villa his (Terry) (Colleen) (Kevin) (David) Clark, Toby Mills, Shane (Chase Hall) (Donald Worley) McClintock, Jack (Jenny) Jovi and Jonah Jovi; his great- Ward, Luke Mills, Kara Lee Mills, Ethan Mansfield, Matilda Worley, Nicholas Worley, Hayden Blaine and Landon James; and special Florida friends, and Joe. Services will be at noon Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort.Burial will be in Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S.Navy Funeral Honor American Legion Post Frankfort VFW Post 5764 and Zeigler American Legion. Charles Polonowski DOWELL Charles away at 12:35 p.m.Sunday,March the Hillfdales Hospital at Cass City, Mich. Charles had worked as a roof bolter for New Kathleen Coal Mine. He was of Christian faith.He was a member of the UMWA and Dowell American Legion.He was a U.S.Army veteran. He was born Oct.19,1916, in son of John and Katherine (Ziomek) Polonowski. He married Mary Pere on Dec.23,1950,in Piggott, she preceded him in death April 17,1999.

He is survived by nieces, including Sally whom he had made his home; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great- nieces and great-great- nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; and three brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Searby Funeral Home in Du the Rev. Betty was a lifetime member of Creal Springs First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Allen Industries in Herrin and Nationwide Glove Factory in Harrisburg.She enjoyed camping and doing crafts, traveling and especially spending time with her grandchildren. He was born Sept.6, Joliet.He moved to Carbondale in 1986.He had one Hawthorne of Springfield, formerly of Carbondale.She survives. Robert served in World War the Quarter Master 1942 to 1945.In retired from ICG he worked as an engineer.Robert was a talented carver and avid gardener. Survivors include his wife, Betty; W.

(Nancy); C.Mall J. Bailey (Steve) and Beth A. Crawshaw; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William. Arthur Ebersohl DE SOTO Arthur V. at 6:30 p.m.Sunday,March 14, Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab Center in Carbondale. He was born Oct.19, De Jacob C.and Ethel Kathe (Will) Ebersohl. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in De Soto.He served his country honorably in the U.S.Army,serv- ing during World War II and the Korean conflict.He retired from Martin Oil Company.He was a member of Jackson County Post Lodge 287 and Lions Club. He is survived by one Zehner of Riverdale; two sisters-in- Ebersohl of De Soto and Rita Ebersohl of Chicago; a special niece and Stacks of De Soto; and and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ralph C. Ebersohl and Loyd Ebersohl; and three F.Ebersohl and Mary died in infancy. She was born May Herrin to Samuel and Audra (Anderson) Duty.She married Leonard Leon Hopkins. He preceded her in death in 1982. Faye was a member of Cape First Church and First Presbyterian Church in Carbondale.She loved traveling and enjoyed cooking. She is survived by four Glaab of Cape Hopkins of Hayden (Jeff) of Anna and Debbie Heidari (Alex) of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Jenny and Rachel; and three Jenny and Hayden.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two grandsons; and one sister. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Crain Funeral N.West End Cape Girardeau, with Pastor Gary Brothers officiating.Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Williamson County. Jim was preceded in death by his Lawrence and Martha (Howell) Keller; his in-laws, Fred C.and Dora A.Pullum; and a Pullum. He worked as a cement finisher for more than 28 in 2003.He was a member of Local 143 Plasterers and Cement Masons in Champaign. In his spare worked as a mechanic, restoring classic hanging out in the garage with Clifford and his buddies. He also enjoyed dancing, playing his trips in his motor home and operating radio controlled cars and airplanes.
