Visitation will be after 6 p.m.today at the funeral home. Norma was born July 25, Carterville to Norman and Marjorie (Batson) Tregoning.

She married Harry Arthur Simpson on Aug.23,1946,in Carterville.He preceded her in death March 10,2000. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Edwards of Carterville; granddaughters and their husbands, Amanda and Bradley Conroy and Jennifer and Ryan of Springfield; and Wyatt and Thomas Pullum and one on the way; of Energy; Graul of Carterville; sisters-in-law and and William Harris of and Bob Howerton and Dorothy of Carterville, Phillip and Phyllis Richardson of Sandra and Gene Provost of Battle and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Graul; Tregoning; father-in-law and and Josie Simpson; sister-in- Richardson; and Simpson and Val Cox. Norma was an antique dealer for many years.She owned and operated Antiques out of her home in Carterville for several she also was a licensed beautician. After she graduated from high worked as an operator for the phone company in Carterville.

Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carterville, Marine Corps League Shawnee Detachment Auxiliary, Carterville Red Hats Society and Logan Antique Club. She also was a 50-year member of Eastern Star in Carterville. Arlene attended Assembly of God Church in Conway, worked as an LPN at Friendship Manor in Nashville. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pinckneyville and The Posse motorcycle club. Arlene enjoyed riding and she dearly loved caring for her family.

Survivors include her Hackworth of Pinckneyville; three sons, Jewell (Ashley Violet) Hackworth of Pinckneyville, Joshua (Amelia) Hackworth of Mount Vernon and Joseph Hackworth of Pinckneyville; Hackworth; five brothers, Lloyd Roger (Beverly) Burnett of James Burnett of Belleville, Edward Ray (Linda) Burnett of Roy (Sue) Burnett of Tilden and Harry Leroy (Irma) Burnett of Morton; Marie Woodside of Coulterville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one Eugene Burnett. She was preceded in death by her parents; Davis; and three brothers, Roy Rowland.

Edward Blankenship VALIER Edward Saturday, March Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin. He was born Sept.3,1932, in Springfield to Jim and Lucile (Eads) Blankenship. Edward served his country in the U.S.Army as a sergeant during the Korean War.He retired from Volkswagen of America as a mechanic and district service manager. He married the former Mary of March 20,1959, in California. His passion in life was the mechanics of he loved to build and fly remote control airplanes.He also enjoyed fishing and off-road racing.

Edward was a true hobbyist and able to fix almost anything.He was a good and he will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Pfister) Blankenship of Valier; (Donna) Blankenship of Hesperia, (David) Whitney of San Luis grandson, Kenny (AJ) Keppler of Atlanta; and and Lou Blankenship of St.Petersburg,Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents. Chester Rehab and Care Center. She was born Aug.26, rural Jackson County near the Post Oak daughter of Henry F.and Emma S. (Misselhorn) Gerberding. Lillian married Herbert J. Bollman on St.John’s Lutheran Church in Post Oak.He preceded her in death Oct.29,2007.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three Hartman and Norma Stegman; and three and Herbert Gerberding. Survivors include three (Beverly) Bollman of Rockwood, Leonard (Doris) Bollman of Doris (Richard) Soles of Warne, N.C.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one Cane of Sparta. Lillian was a member of St.Peter’s Lutheran Church in Wine Hill (Randolph County) and St.Peter’s Ladies Aid.She was active in many church functions throughout the years. In addition to helping her husband worked at Brown Shoe Hosiery and Gilster Mary-Lee Corp. She was an avid quilter, and her quilts and embroidery were in high demand.

Her loving kindness will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
