Blairaville, Feb. 16--What was supposed to be one of the hottest fights ever waged in Bliirsvilte for a Borough office was pullfd off today in the Tnird War', between Shrrman Smith, Republican, and Wilaon, Democrat, candidates for the 3-year term in Council The contest resulted in a victory for WiUcn who came out of the fray with 88 votes to the good.

Both sides put up a good fight and neither gave up until the last vote was counted. Short, the Democratic candidate for the 2 year term, beat Ferguson, Republican, by 10 votes and Hamilton Republican candidate for the 1-year term, beat Geary, Democrat. by 16 votes. In the First ward the fight was between Dr. C.

S. Pearee, Republican, and Rev. J. T. Davis.

Prohibition, candidates for School Director, the latter winning fcy a large margin. The election of Rev. Davis means two new faces in the School Board this year. Dr. Wellman having defeated G.

Wineman for re-election at tho Primary. This is the first change in the personnel of the board in six years. In the Second ward there was no contest, the Republicans winning without any trouble. Tf vote for Council and School Director follows: First Ward. Council--W.
