Chicken is abundant, and many Btores are displaying them at special prices. Small turkeys are in good supply, but there is expected to be a shortage of the hen turkeys. Prices are slightly higher than before Thanksgiving. Wholesale pork prices have been fluctuating on the abundant supply but many stores are offering good values on loin roasts and chops, smoked hams, bacon and roll eausage. CHUCK ROASTS are probably the best values in beef.

There are good supplies of standing rib roasts, but (Jerri a means higher than usual prices. While fresh fish are not too abundant there are good supplies of smelt. Whlteflsh and trout are usually scarce because of storms and perch is running small in size. Oysters, shrimp and lobster tails are in light supply, but some stores are offering good buys on king crab. LARGE and medium sized eggs of the same quality are competing as best buys in different markets with the difference in price ranging from six to 14 cents a dozen.

Cottage cheese, medium sharp cheese and cheese slices are on prominent display at most dairy counters. Banana imports continue heavy and their low prices make them one of the better fruit value. NEW crop Navel oranges are in good supply and sizes are running large. Although dry, warm weather has had some effects on Florida citrus shipments are Increasing steadily. The quality ef grapefruit is excellent.

Liberal supplies of apples are Available from Michigan storage and supplies of Hawaiian pineapple are increasing. Heavier shipments of western lettuce have reduced prices. LARGE shipments of mush-rooms from both Michigan and Pennsylvania have helped to keep prices down. Green onions, squash, sweet corn and eggplant are in good supply. Shippers of potatoes are finding It difficult to obtain adequate supplies in some areas where growers are holding for higher prices.

THE SPECIAL on shortening and vegetable oils are exceptionally good values this week. Coffee, applesauce and a number of preserves are being advertised this week.
