receivers were making key blocks the offensive line was holding people a little longer the quarterback was making good play fakes We were doing every thing Clemson meanwhile struggled to move the ball against Georgia The Tigers had entered the game averaging better than 425 yards per game offensively but managed just 235 against the knew coming in that they were ranked eighth in the country in running defense (92 yards per Clemson coach Tommy West said dis appointed though and I make no bones about it Our football team is crushed because of the effort they put into this The two teams were nearly equal in every catego ry through the first half and the scoreboard reflected that a 10 10 tie Georgia took over in the third period however holding Clemson to just 25 yards of total offense 20 of those on the final two plays of the quarter The Bulldogs meanwhile collected 133 yards in the quarter including 91 on the ground by Kirtsey alone Georgia managed to get just nine points out of it however and Clemson came back to score on Emory second TD of the game with 13:53 left in the game The Tigers got two more possessions to try and win the game but managed just 25 total yards on the two
