The meeting was held at the home Leroy Witters with seven members attending. President Ray Boyer appointed Witters chairman of the food stand and named the following committeemen: G. Roger Wildasin. Kenneth Stauf- fcr. John Smith, Thomas Dale and George Mecklvy.

Ticket committee includes chairman, Charles Chubb, Robert Thieret, Burnell Worley, Vincent Bre'ighner and Homer Hafer. It was announced that Faber Wildasin, the editor of the club paper, has been appointed to the board of directors. The board approved the donation of two fruit baskets to be given away at the Governor's conference at Dillsburg in the Chalet Restaurant on April 5. SHANK WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TOP SALESMAN Robert Storm of Staub Chevrolet, New Oxford, has been named he top Chevrolet salesman in the Harrisburg zone. As winner of the company's annual competition he will be nstalled as president of the Legion of Leaders Honor Club at a banquet this evening in the Colonial Country Club, Harrisburg.

Edgar Shank, guests at the Brethren Home for the Aged at Crass Keys, will observe their 68th wedding anniversary on March 22. On that date in 1894--the day after his birthday --the young Mr. Shank, of near York Springs, hitched his horse to his buggy, drove to Carlisle for the marriage license, picked up Miss Elizabeth Rhoads and went to the home of Rev. J. C.

Clippinger of Boiling Springs where they were married. During their 68 years of mar- tied life, they lived briefly at Latimore, several years at York Springs R. 11 in Illinois and several in Abbottstown. For a little over a year they have been the guests in the Cross Keys Home. Four children were born to the couple of whom Mrs.

Sterling Berkheimer and Doric Shank, both of Abbottstown, are still living. Mrs. Shank tells how, as a girl, went to live with a family where she milked as man; as 15 cows for $1.75, plus board per month. Later the wages were raised to $1.00 per week. Mr Shank worked as a farmer bu had time to hunt.

He raised am trained several beagle dogs. He says he can well remember shoot ing 25 to 30 rabbits by 9 o'clock in the morning. These were cleaned and salted to provide meat for other days. In addition he pursued the white tail deer killing 22. the last one when he was 82 years ol age.

They have had good health throughout their long life time He is now 89 and she is 87. When asked what he would say to young couples as a formula for a happj and successful marriage. Mr Shank advised: "Paddle your own canoe." She added her recipe "Always lay up something for a rainy day." Tlw officers received by radio from the state police at Harrisburg to stop a car headed south on the Gettysburg-Harrisburg Rd.

With four state police cars, the officers halted the vehicle near the old county home. They turned the three men, all negroes from Harrisburg, over to state police from the Harrisburg station without obtaining their names. They learned from the men that the Car was stolen. The three had stopped at the Rest Awhile Inn service station at Dillsburg, got worth of gasoline in the vehicle and then drove off without paying. College Alumni Of County Will Dine Dr.
