Thursday, Sept. 11, '75 DETROIT FREE PRESS Obituaries Mrs. Lillian J. Rasch, Traffic Court Clerk Services for Mrs. Lillian J.

Rasch, 71, retired Detroit Traffic Court clerk, will be held at a.m. Saturday at the Bell Chapel of the Wm. R. Hamilton 820 E. Maple, Birmingham.

Mrs. Rasch, of Bloomfield Hills, died Wednesday at Henry Ford Hospital after a long illness. She was a traffic court clerk for 29 years before her retirement in 1969. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Roger B.

Smith; four grandchildren; two brothers, and a sister. Friends may call at the funeral, home at 5 p.m. Thursday. Memorial tributes may be made to the Henry Ford Hospital Cancer Fund. Earl B.

Jones, 61, Newspaper Ad Man Services for Earl B. Jones, national advertising manager for the Macomb Daily I I I News in Mt. Clemens, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile, Royal Oak.

Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Jones, 61, died Tuesday at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. For 16 years he worked in the national advertising of the Detroit Free Press, leaving the paper in 1954.

Mr. Jones was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Ashlar Lodge No. 91, and a member of the ClawsonTroy Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, Robert his parents, and two grandchildren. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetary in Troy.

Memorials may be sent to the Michigan Cancer Foundation. Mrs. Ruth Hinkle, State Award Winner Services for Mrs. Ruth Hathaway Hinkle, who received the Governor's Award in 1974 for distinguished service to Michigan, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the VasuLynch Funeral Home, 4375 N.

Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Hinkle, 86, died Wednesday at Carmel Hall. She was honored for her services with the Retired Senior Volunteers Program. She was also past president of the Northwestern Women's Club of Detroit and a former member of the Story Tellers' League.

Surviving are three daughters, the Rev. Mary Hinkle, Mrs. Barbara Smith and Mrs. Elizabeth L. Fales; a son, Paul 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery: Margaret Nemeckay, Deli Operator Services for Margaret M. Nemeckay, co- -founder of Ray's Delicatessen Detroit, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at SS.

Cyril Methodius Church, 9071 St. Cyril. A prayer ser- Character Actor Dies Character actor John McGiver, whose movies included "Midnight Cowboy" and "The Manchurian Candidate," is dead at 62. He suffered a heart attack at his home in West Fulton, N.Y. McGiver also appeared in- a number of television shows and acted on Broadway.

Deaths Elsewhere Walter J. Derenberg, 72, a pioneer in the field of trademark and copyright law and professor emeritus at New York University's school of law. Died in New York. Samuel C. Slaymaker, 79, former head of the Slaymaker Lock which his father founded in 1888, and a national leader in Presbyterian Church of the United States.

Died in a Lancaster, nursing home. Bess Shipstad, 59, widow of the founder of the Ice Follies. Cathedral City, authorities said she was found dead in her backyard swimming pool, apparently a drowning victim. Funeral Directors 10 A. J.

VAN LERBERGHE Death Notices will be at 7 p.m. Thursvice, at the Eppens-Van Deweghe Funeral Home, 6150 Cadieux. Mrs. Nemeckay, 69, died Tuesday in her home in Detroit after a brief illness. Mrs.

Nemeckay is survived by two sons, Raymond L. and Stephen one sister, and 12 grandchildren. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Yvette Ingram, Slain Teacher Services for Yvette Ingram, a Detroit school teacher, will be at 11 a.m.

Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, Holcomb and Chapin. Miss Ingram, 24, died Saturday after being shot in her Detroit home. She was a 9th grade teacher at Burroughs Junior High School. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mattie Ingram.

A family hour will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Swanson Funeral Home, 806 E. Grand Blvd. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. John McPhee, Train Conductor Services for John McPhee, a retired New York Central Railroad conductor, will be at 11 a.m.

Friday at the EppensVanDeweghe Funeral Home, 6150 Cadieux. Mr. McPhee, 75, died Tuesday at his Detroit home after a short illness. He retired in 1967 after 42 years with the railroad. Surviving are his wife, Jessie a son, J.

Rodney; two brothers, one sister and three grandchildren. A University Lodge service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

James Carson, 71, Owned Eatery Services for James Carson, 71, retired Detroit restaurateur, will be held Saturday in Athens, Greece. Mr. Carson, formerly of Grosse Pointe Woods, died Tuesday in Greece. He was the owner of the Carson Chop House and previously owned the New Olympia Restaurant, a meeting place for many sports celebrities. Born in Chalkis, Greece, Mr.

Carson came to the United States in 1924. He was active in the Greek community in Detroit. Surviving are his wife, Ursula: two sons, Constantine and Charles: a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Spiliadis, and seven grandchildren. Burial will be in Greece.

Beatrice McDonald, Livonia Teacher Services for Mrs. Beatrice L. McDonald, a Livonia school teacher, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the R. G.

G. R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia. Mrs. McDonald, 47, of Livonia, died Wednesday in St.

Mary's Hospital after a long illness. A graduate of Toledo University, she obtained her master's degree from the University of Michigan. She taught physical education for three years at Eastern Michigan University and had taught for five years at Bentley High in Livonia. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Democratic State Central Committee and headed the Livonia Mothers March on Birth Defects.

Surviving are her husband. John: two sons, Patrick and John: a daughter, Kathryn; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kiker, two brothers and two sisters. Burial will be in Parkview Memorial Cemetery.

Garv D. Smith. Worked for TV Firm Services for Gary D. Smith, 35. production manager with Glen-Warren Detroit, will be held at 2 p.m.

Saturday at Shine's Funeral Home in Delhi. Ontario. Mr. Smith, of Windsor, died Wednesdav of a heart attack. Before joining Glen-Warren Detroit.

Dr. Fred Gray, 62 Ford Obstetrician GRAND RAPIDS -(AP)Dr. Fred L. Gay, who delivered the four children of President and Mrs. Ford, died Tuesday in Grand Rapids of a heart attack.

He was 62. Dr. Gray, who delivered almost 7,000 babies during his career, graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine i in Nashville, Tenn. He is survived by his wife: three sons, David, Frederick and William; a daughter, Priscilla Lawla; two brothers, and a sister. The funeral is to be Thursday in Grand Rapids.
