Murphy did not expand on the description of the new car, but he seemed to be confirming widely circulated reports that an American version of GM's so-called Car will be added to the Chevrolet lineup for the upcoming model year.

BY WILLIAM MITCHELL Praa Prats Staff WrtMf A former Michigan mental patient who has been linked with the disappearance of five persons and a series of sex crimes was released from a state institution in 1572 because its director said he was not mentally ill. Dr. Ames Robey, director of Michigan's Center for Forensic Psychiatry near Ann Arbor, said Friday that he thought the patient, Gary A.

Taylor, would be dangerous only if he failed to take his medication. Robey's conclusion conflicted sharply with that of another psychiatrist who examined Taylor in 1959 and said he would "require lifelong incarceration" unless there were a dramatic breakthrough in psychiatric treatment. The psychiatrist, Dr. William E. Gordon, also said: "Any further effort to return him or to attempt even to return him to a social world will be a frank and overt indication of extremely pcor judgement, total disregard of the welfare of society, and grossly defective moral and ethical senses on the part of any and all who might participate in such efforts." The ability of psychiatrists to diagnose mental diseases uniformly or to predict dangerousness accurately has been called into question in Michigan lately as part of the controversy over a new state mental health code and recent court decisions.
