The case was tossed back to Wayne County by the State Supreme Court, which Tuesday denied several appeals by defense attorneys. CHARGED WITH the slaying of Lydia Thompson on Oct. 11, 1945, are her husband, Louis V. Thompson; his second wife, Helen, and Stanley Anculewicz, a salesman. Judge Fitzgerald -vras selected to hear the examination after Gov.

Slgler signed a bill which prohibited Circuit Judge George B. Murphy from presiding. The case will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Ralph Garber, Wayne County Prosecutor James McNally and Assistant Prosecutor Ralph De-laney. The Supreme Court ruling holds Thompson in Wayne County jail without bond until the examination is completed. Council Cold to Tenant Plea for More Heat A.

request by Maurice Modiest. of 1519 Seward, for an ordinance requiring apartment owners to furnish, their tenants a reasonable amount of heat was dismissed by Common Council. Modiest presented a petition signed by fellow tenants. The Board of Health and the Corporation Counsel agreed that such an ordinance would be FO3f IP stWr ounaay ana Monday during the crisis when, flood threatened to swamp the water plant. PARKING HIS car on Ballenger Road bridge, Densmore removed his overcoat, ran through traffic and jumped off the bridge.

Meanwhile, H. M. Wills, TJnited States meteorologist at East Lansing, predicted the flood crests are now moving downstream toward the months of swollen rivers. He said the water levels should drop rapidly within the next few days if there is no further heavy rainfall. Weather Bureau officials predicted light rains for Wednesday.

Flint's downtown streets were still under water and only two of the 16 bridges were open to traffic. Damage estimates ranged between two and four million dollars. IN THE LANSING area. 2,500 persons remained homeless and many will not be able to return to their homes for a week. Electrical service was restored to the Quonset and trailer village on the Michigan State College campus but the living quarters will be without heat for several more days.

The Flint River has dropped more than a foot and the Red Cedar, at East Lansing, has fallen one and a half feet. The Saginaw River remained stationary, a foot above flood level, and may not go higher because the Tittabawassee did not rise as high as expected. SC. Vehicle on runners 17.
