Ctnsidint WWJ-Monitor XYZ-Episcopal Sere '4B W-WJBK-Oon CKLW-H. Wismcr If Jane Wyman ever decides to give up acting, she could do all right as a crystal gazer. Eight years ago, when the movie industry regarded telev-vision with horror, Miss Wyman talked Warner Bros, into a clause in her movie contract giving her the right to do TV. Now, with the motion picture industry going into television full speed, Miss Wyman is ahead of most of her fellow stars with a program of her own all set to makes its debut Tuesday over WWJ-TV (4), at 8 p. m.

"I DIDN'T want to rush into it," eays Miss Wyman, "I wanted to study the situation. And my first loyalty was to the movies." Studying, took the erisp, business-like Miss Wyman until last season when she made "Amelia" a half-hour film for GE Theater. "We thought it might be the start of a film series," she said over the telephone from Hollywood last Thursday, "but playing the same character every week would bore me and probably bore audiences." "I DECIDED an anthology type series where I could play all kinds of roles would be right. And, believe me, it has turned out to be very exciting. I'm hostess on all 36 half-hour programs and star in 20 of the Btories.

"We start work on the eighth in' the series Monday," went on, "two days rehearsal, three days shooting. It's no different from making theater films, just much faster. We take Sunday off, but that's about all." Mass Wyman's Job is more than star of the series. She is co-producer with Lew Was-serman. "He's my agent," she says, "but, more important, my very good friend." They combined their names to make the title of the company, Lew-man Corp.

"WELL STICK pretty much to drama," she says, "I don't think comedy wears too well. We have all our friends on the look out for Btories. In fact, we'd be happy to eee scripts from viewers, is they will send them to us." "I'm not going to get Involved in the commercials at all," she says firmly, "That's too much out of character for an actress." And she refuses to get involved in the live vs. film TV, controversey. "Let's face ft, it would be silly for me to do live TV.

I've never worked on the stage and that's a necessity." BEFORE SHE started the TV series she finished three motion pictures. "Lucy Gallant" is due for release in October and two more, "All That Heaven Allows" and "Miracle in the Rain" will keep her on theater screens in 1956. She's looking forward to Tuesday when she'll turn on the TV set at home and settle down with daughter Maureen, 15, and son Michael, 11, to watch the launching of the series. "Right now, the children are very calm about mother as a TV regular," she smiles, "I'll be interested to hear what they have to say." Favorite Husband' Gets Reprieve The future of My Favorite Husband has been settled. Beginning late in September, it will resume over CBS-TV and be shown on Tuesday at 10:30 p.m.

Starring Vanessa Brown and Barry Nelson, the situation comedy has picked up a sponsor. Formerly telecast 'live', the new show will be on film. From Gati Baa Bill Cullen figures that the way they keep switching husbands and wives around in Hollywood it should be one big happy family. 7:00 HOPALONG CASSIDY "Frontier Law," starring William Boyd 7:30 CHANNEL 9 PLAYHOUSE "Come to the Bank" 1:00 Jewelers' MOTION PICTURE ACADEMY "Privet Affairs of Bel Ami," etarrlng George Sanders, Ann Dvorak, Angela Lansbury 10:30 FOLLOW THAT MAN "Going, Going, Gone," starring Ralph Bellamy 11:00 CROWN THEATRE "Pardon My French," starring Paul Henreid, Merle Oberon CKLW-C'pel for Blind WJIB-Polish Varieties CBE-Music Student r.M.
