Built Upon Faith BY JEROME HANSEN Irff Press Staff Writer MIDLAND The strength of the Dow Chemical Co. has been extracted from the mineral deposits of Michigan. You could say that Dow built its industrial foundation from the bountiful resources which nature endowed tc Dd ft so Michigan.

Many companies owe their success, their very existence to Michigan. Few, perhaps, owe more than the Dow firm. And in return, Michigan has benefitted greatly from the Dow success. That the No. 2 Dow name is of a recogni zed the Series world over is a source of pride to the state.

Dr. Herbert H. Dow, the company's founder and guiding light until his death in 1930, (staked produce chemicals cheaper than his competitors.
