Air Stocks Show Gains NEW YORK, March 15 (P)-Aircrafts, buoyed by big rearmament expectations, edged upward in today's stock market but most failed to get very far. Spots of strength were in evidence elsewhere although many leaders worked in losing territory.

Mild irregularity prevailed near the close. Dealings tapered after a fairly lively start. Transfers for the full proceedings ran to around 750,000 shares. Touching highs for 1948 before running into some opposition were Douglas Aircraft. Boeing, United Aircraft, Sperry and Glenn Martin.

Better performers included Santa Fe, General Motors, Youngstown Sheet, Oliver U. S. Gypsum, International Business Machines, Texas company and Gulf Oil. Backward most of the time were Union Pacific, Chesapeake and Ohio, North American, Electric Power and Light, Warner Brothers, and United Air Lines. Bonds held to a slim groove.

Cotton, toward the finish, was off $1.30 bale to up 25 cents. At Chicago a wheat ended up 1 cent a bushel to down 2 cents, corn off to up and oats off 11 to up cents. Heavy Snow Covers Crater Ski enthusiasts who trekked to Crater Lake national park Sunday spent the day in a snowstorm which left 14 inches of fresh fall on an already heavy pack. Rangers said 22 inches of fresh snow have fallen since Friday night, bringing the total depth to 132. There were no skiing accidents Sunday but two cars collided on the west entrance road and occupants of both machines were cut by flying glass. It was necessary to move the cars from the park by wreckers and the injured were taken to their homes. Drivers were Angelo Benetti of Grants Pass and Harold Ellis of Medford.

Rangers said Ellis was traveling too fast under road conditions and crashed into the Benetti machine. Ninety-five cars carrying 390 people into the park was the Sunday registration, light for this time of the year but considered fair with valley weather as it was yesterday.
