John A. Donovan, auxiliary bishop and chancellor of the Archdiocese of Detroit, and the Rev. Dr. G. Merrill Lenox, executive director of the Detroit Council of Churches, said in part: "In these days of worldwide unrest and deep spiritual hunger, it is especially important for all people everywhere to seek the guidance of Almighty God and to acknowledge' His sovereignty over the affairs of men.

"Especially do we appeal for all Christians to spend the Tre Ore period of Good Friday attending religious services. "We urge that all business places close for the period. Thus employes will be able to observe fittingly the solemn and sacred hours." THE PROCLAMATION from the Mayor's office farther said in part: "As we in Detroit approach the sacred services of the three hours on the Cross, we should stop to reflect deeply on the affairs of the world. "Countless millions of people cry out for freedom and peace and we can find understanding in our hearts as our innermost being hears the voice of the Master. Masonic Groups Note Good Friday Two Masonic groups have announced special observance of Good Friday.

In the Scottish Rite Cathedral of Masonic Temple there will be a choral presentation and sermon by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth G. Neigh, executive of the Presbyterian Synod of Michigan. The service Is open to the public at 1 p.m.

Services will be in the Big Beaver Methodist Church, Rochester Road, near Big Beaver Road, beginning at 1 p.m. In several instances the Tre Ore services in downtown Detroit theaters will be televised or broadcast.
