HE ENTERED the auto Industry as advertising manager of E-M-F, the forerunner of Studebaker. To publicize the cars, he conceived the idea of a trip from Quebec to Mexico. He later served as advertising manager of Studebaker, leaving to manage the Maxwell Racing Team, which included such drivers as Eddie Ricken-backer and Barney Oldfield. He became advertising manager of the Harroun Motor Co.

in Wayne when it was founded by Ray Harroun. During World War I he handled publicity for Liberty engines, which powered many aircraft in that war. After World War he handled the accounts of Fisher Body and Oldfield Tires, a division of Firestone Tire and Rubber Co.
